Robert L. Bratzler, Ph.D.

President and Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Bratzler has been our President, Chief Executive Officer and a director since June 1998. A co-founder of Sepracor Inc., a research-based pharmaceutical company, in 1984, Dr. Bratzler also co-founded and helped build and finance several Sepracor group companies, including ChiRex Inc., a pharmaceutical outsourcing company, where Dr. Bratzler served as President and Chief Executive Officer from 1996 to 1997. A former faculty member in the department of chemical engineering at Princeton University, Dr. Bratzler received his B.S. degree from the University of Michigan and his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Executive Vice President, Research and Development
Chief Scientific Officer

Dr. Krieg is our scientific co-founder and has been our Executive Vice President, Research and Development since April 2001 and Chief Scientific Officer since May 1997. Dr. Krieg served as Staff Fellow at the National Institute of Arthritis, Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases at the National Institute of Health after his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Krieg has been a Professor of Medicine in the University of Iowa's Department of Internal Medicine since April 1999. Dr. Krieg received his B.S. in biology from Haverford College and his M.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Charles H. Abdalian, Jr.

Senior Vice President, Finance
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Abdalian has been Coley's Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer since March 2004. Mr. Abdalian worked as an industry consultant for Bolton Management Consulting from December 2002 to March 2004. Mr. Abdalian served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Pelias Technologies, Inc., an early-stage private biotechnology company specializing in drug-delivery technologies from October 2001 to December 2002, and as Chief Operating and Financial Officer from August 2001 to October 2001. He served as Chief Financial Officer at Emisphere Technologies, a publicly-traded biotechnology company focused on advanced drug-delivery technologies from March 1999 to July 2001. Previously, Mr. Abdalian served in various senior financial positions with publicly-traded companies and was employed by Coopers & Lybrand (a predecessor firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers) for 17 years, seven as a Partner. Mr. Abdalian received his B.S. degree from Norwich University and his MBA degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Senior Vice President, Pharmacology R&D and Managing Director Coley Ltd.
Dr. Davis is our scientific co-founder and has worked with Dr. Krieg since 1995. She has been our Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Coley Ltd. (the company's Canada subsidiary) since 2001. From 1992 to June 2001, Dr. Davis was a professor at the University of Ottawa prior to which she was an assistant professor at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. Dr. Davis received her Ph.D. in Anatomy from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario and did postdoctoral work in molecular biology and DNA vaccine development at the Pasteur Institute, Paris, France.

Ferdinand E. Massari, M.D.

Senior Vice President, Drug Development and Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Massari joined Coley in April 2006 with more than15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including clinical drug development, new product registration, medical affairs and marketing. Immediately prior to joining Coley, he served as Medical Consultant, Clinical Partners. From 2003-2005, Dr. Massari was Vice President, Anti-infective/Respiratory/Urology Group, Worldwide Medical Affairs for Pfizer. Prior to Pfizer's acquisition of Pharmacia, he served as Pharmacia Corporation's Vice President, Infectious Diseases, Women's Health, Urology and General Medicine, Global Clinical Research from 1999-2003. Prior to Pharmacia, Dr. Massari held positions with Merck & Company from 1997-1998 both in marketing and clinical research. Trained as a Fellow in Allergy/Immunology in the Laboratory of Immunoregulation at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Massari received his M.D. at Jefferson Medical School and served as an adjunct faculty member of the University of Pennsylvania Medical School.

Christian Schetter, Ph.D.

Senior Vice President, European Operation Managing Director Coley GmbH
Dr. Schetter joined Coley in May 1998 from the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry in Martinsried, Germany. As Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Coley GmbH, (the company's German subsidiary) he is responsible for the planning and organization of all research and development activities in Europe. Dr. Schetter received his undergraduate degree from the University of Cologne and his Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology and Virology from the Institute of Genetics at the University of Cologne, and did postdoctoral work in oncology and retrovirology at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California.

Charles E. Yon

Senior Vice President, General Counsel
Mr. Yon has been our Senior Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel since 2001. Prior to joining Coley, Mr. Yon was Associate General Counsel at Polaroid Corp. From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Yon was a partner at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. Prior to joining Mintz, Mr. Yon served as Vice President and General Counsel for Astra Pharmaceutical Products from 1989 to 1997. Mr. Yon received his B.A. degree from Harvard College and his J.D. from Georgetown University.

Ted Hibben

Vice President, Business Development & Alliance Management
Mr. Hibben has been Coley's Vice President, Business Development and Alliance Management since 2007, having joined Coley as Director, Business Development, in April of 2003. Mr. Hibben has been a business executive and consultant in the biotechnology industry since 1992. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Hibben led in-licensing efforts at Centagenetix, Inc. (then merged into Elixir Pharmaceuticals, Inc.) on behalf of lead investor MPM Capital. From 2000 to 2002, he served as a founding executive of Pericor Science, Inc., based on novel drug delivery technology from Harvard Medical School. Previously, Mr. Hibben led the M&A effort at Ontogeny that resulted in the merger with Creative BioMolecules and Reprogenesis to form Curis, Inc. Mr. Hibben's earlier responsibilities include heading the corporate development group at a start-up recombinant contract manufacturer in Hopkinton, MA. Mr. Hibben received his A.B. degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
