Pioneering science.
Promising therapies.

Coley Pharmaceutical Group is the leader in the discovery and development of a breakthrough class of immunotherapy drug candidates with broad clinical and commercial potential.

Our proprietary TLR Therapeutics™ target a subtype of immune system receptors called Toll-like receptors (TLRs). Coley's TLR Therapeutics tap the natural power of the immune system, directing targeted and specific immune responses to diseases. We believe our technology has the potential to address a wide range of large unmet needs-such as cancer, allergy and asthma, autoimmune diseases, and to enhance the potency of both preventative and therapeutic vaccines.

Powerful Partnerships

Coley's efforts to transform the treatment of diseases are reinforced by our commercial collaborations with global pharmaceutical leaders such as Pfizer, sanofi-aventis, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, and Novartis.

Leading Innovation

Since our founding in 1997, Coley has led the way in TLR Therapeutics research and drug development. Our scientific innovation has resulted in a robust pipeline of drug candidates in various phases of clinical development. Building on our clinical experiences, we are developing next-generation TLR Therapeutics and making exciting progress on future applications for medicines targeting Toll-like receptors.

Promising Future

We have only just scratched the surface of the possibilities of our TLR Therapeutics. Coley is continuing to broaden and diversify its TLR platform beyond DNA-like TLR9  with small molecule agonists and antagonists targeting TLRs 7, 8 and 9 and new RNA drugs that act as TLR7/8 agonists. We are committed to investing the resources necessary to build our pipeline, to deliver promising therapies for patients and to create value for our shareholders.

Coley has international operations with executive offices in Wellesley, Massachusetts, USA, and additional operations in Düsseldorf, Germany, and Ottawa, Canada. Clinical trials are conducted worldwide.

Fighting Cancer

Coley’s lead TLR9 agonist drug candidate is being evaluated in a Phase 2 study in combination with Tarceva (erlotinib) in treatment-refractory, Stage IIIb/IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with our collaborator, Pfizer. Pfizer is also investigating PF-3512676 in a Phase 1 clinical study in combination with CP675 for the potential treatment of advanced melanoma.  Learn more about our cancer development program.
